The Gloucester Soil Conservation Districts has completed work on the Upper Maurice River Regional Stormwater Management Plan Guidance Document (RSMP). This report is the culmination of nearly 4 years of work by the District and our partners. The RSMP includes a detailed characterization and assessment of the Upper Maurice River Watershed and a discussion of eight proposed management strategies. The management strategies are designed to address stormwater issues affecting the watershed and provide guidance for maintaining the currently good conditions. Also included in the report is a final report on a BASINS water quality model prepared for the watershed by Rutgers University and their consultant Metcalf & Eddy.
In addition to the Upper Maurice River Watershed project, the Gloucester and Camden Soil Conservation Districts, Gloucester County Planning Division, and Rowan University have teamed together to develop Regional Stormwater Management Plans for Raccoon Creek and the Upper Mantua Creek. Over a three year period, project tasks include creating a detailed characterization and assessment of the watershed, determining stormwater concerns such as flooding and stream bank erosion, identifying stormwater management goals, proposing appropriate stormwater management strategies and developing an implementation plan.
